SENATE COMMITTEE
HB0062 Senior health care special districts. | BAD bill that requires citizen opposition. … creates separate, special health care districts for any person “who is at least sixty (60) years of age, a disabled adult who is at least eighteen (18) years of age, or a person with medical or behavioral health care needs“. Unless they have experienced it firsthand, most people are unaware that the WY Dept of Health, via this brochure (https://health.wyo.gov/wp-content/uploads/2017/12/POLST-Brochure-December-2017.pdf), has been pushing for the elderly to fill out POLST forms which suggest Do Not Resuscitate and/or “Comfort-Focused Therapy”. This bill also provides for NGOs – of which there is no accountability to citizens. The care of our elderly and disabled should be sacrosanct, completely transparent & accountable, and not placed within another level of hidden bureaucracy! |
