What is ‘the shining city upon the hill’? Most typically know this reference from two sources: Jesus Christ and Ronald Reagan. Jesus spoke these words at His Sermon on the Mount, Matthew 5 – 7. The quote from Reagan comes from his Farewell Address in 1989. Less known, is a quote, again from a sermon, by Puritan pilgrim John Winthrop, before he and his fellow settlers reached New England in 1630. John Winthrop coupled his message with that of Jesus; Ronald Reagan coupled his message with that of John Winthrop.
We believe that each of these messages, at least in one way, speaks of exceptionalism. That is, our uniqueness comes from our imperfections, and our imperfections cause us to be humble and determined to be our best – at the same time. Exceptionalism comes from within, not without.
THE LIGHT – THE SHINING CITY ON THE HILL

THE DARK
Darkness seems to be pervading so many things right now: The evil that threatens to crush those who dare speak freely in the town square; the enormous cloak that has fallen upon our unfinished elections; the digital suppression and manipulation of our speech (internet searches, websites, comments, tweets, posts, email, text messages, even credit card usage); and a viral threat – that infects our leader’s lofty plans much more-so than the physical health of us underlings.
There is one thing we can all be certain of right now – we were meant to be present during this time in American history. Every single one of us is meant to be here. Right now. Let that knowledge keep your flame bright and your path illuminated.
These are very, very dark times. But we should use every breath, every ounce and fiber in our bodies to fight being consumed by it. If there was ever a time to be a beacon in the darkness – it would be now. Right now. Be exceptional.
As of this writing, our readership has dropped to single digits – whether it be due to suppression in and of social media, or those who have simply fled certain social media (which we strongly encourage!!). Nevertheless – we choose to persist. (Yup – we took their word and it feels good, damn it.) We will persist to send out our thoughts, our opinions, our updates, our ramblings, and our aggregations of what we find out there in the darkness. If there is just one flame, one light, that we can couple with – WE WILL. We pray you do the same.

- 11-16, Last night Lou Dobbs said that he had just received word from a ‘highly reliable source’ that the FBI was finally looking into the election fraud allegations. After all our President has been through, after all our country has been through – this new information does not feel reassuring at all.
